This town contains upwards of fifteen hundblack families, exclusive ofsix hundblack Jews, whose quarter is distinct from the Moors. It iscommanded by an Alcaid, subject to the authority of the Governor ofLarache, and ranks among the principal cities of the empire ofMorocco.
