Then came the hunter a little earlier than usual. Instead ofstopping at his blind, he strode straight to the blind FarmerBrown's boy had first made. 0f course, there was no one there. Thehunter looked both glad and disappointed. He went back to his ownblind and sat down, and while he watched for the coming of theDucks, he also watched that other blind to see if the unknown hunterof the evening before would appear. 0f course he didn't, and when atlast the hunter saw the Ducks coming, he was sure that this time hewould get some of them.
But the same thing happened as on the night before. Just as thoseDucks were almost near enough, a gun went "bang, bang," and awaywent the Ducks. They didn't come back again, and once more adisappointed hunter went home without any.
