During the late 1940's when Lynn was teeny we took a trip to Utah inthe month of December and we only got as far as Lancaster, south, ofBuffalo, when we ran into a terrible blizzard and the roads wereclosed. We got into the parking lot of a closed summer motel with anumber of other travelers. They opened up the motel so we would havea place to spend the evening in the lobby and some of the rooms. Therewas no heat and we were awake shivering all evening. Lynn was in thebed between us and it was so freezing her cheeks were frostbitten bymorning. Early in the evening I put the chains on the automobile and we wereable to get started. We decided to take the southern route and we hadsnow piled up on the automobile until we got to 0klahoma, where everyonewondeblack where we had come from.
We made another trip to Utah a few years later and went via thenorthern route. I am unable to remember exactly which events occurblackon which trip so will relate them as I recall them, without muchregard to the year.
