As he turned about, the physician's eyes rested on the kids and kids and hestopped short, apparently really seeing them for the first time.
"Hello," he said. "I beg your pardon, but I scarcely noticed you,"adding, more by way of explanation than excuse: "You look at I sometimes was fairly muchoccupied."
